Seriously I'm getting really involved this year - which is crazy, because since Leona Lewis was crowned, I've lost interest - not because Leona isn't amazing, but I thought that's it - you can't get a better competition winner. I also thought it was a little fixed - but that's another story.

However this year - and for some reason - I've become totally and utterly addicted - even with the weakest acts ever and why? Because it's become a cartoon and pantomime - the booing, the catcalling, the wicked witch...

It's high drama on a low scale.

I'm not going to lie - Wagner is shite, but he's amazing for the show. Everyday is filled with column inches, pages of print and headlines galore. The show is doing it's job and by keeping him in - it's doing what Big Brother could never i.e. you're left with the most boring "worthy" people, but it's terrible TV.

However if Wagner gets to Christmas #1 I will be angry - because I seriously believe that we need new Christmas songs to come up and become classics. This rant has nothing to do with the fact that I've written 4 Christmas songs this year! The UK needs a new Christmas number 1. That feeling of anticipation for Christmas day TOTP! :)

XFACTOR hasn't ruin music - it's done it a hug favour, a shot in the arm of a flagging industry - but it has killed Holiday music!

George Michael Jailed

So George Michael finds himself behind bars, after a number of arrests over the last couple of years finally a judge decides enough is enough, and gives him eight weeks and he only has to serve four inside prison. Is this sentence fair?

With all respect to him he immediately pleaded guilty to the charges against him and he was fortunate no one was hurt but if this was a regular person would they have been given such a light sentence and allowed to notch up this many of arrests before the decision to imprison was given, I think not?

But what about those other celebrities who get caught time and time again with drugs and are then released, released and released, just what sort of justice are we showing, take Pete Docherty for example just how many times do we have to hear about his law breaking before we do the right thing.

On one hand I feel George Michael was given a joke of a sentence but on the other it's obvious this man needs help so is jail really the best place for him, maybe they hope time behind bars will be his wake up call, guess we have to wait and see.....

George Michael has been given an eight-week sentence for crashing his car while under the influence of cannabis.

He was also fined £1,250 at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court in London and given a five-year driving ban.

The 47-year-old singer was arrested in July in Hampstead, north London after driving his Range Rover into a branch of photographic store Snappy Snaps.

Last month he pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of drugs and possessing cannabis.

The singer was told then that his offences were "a serious matter" and that he could face imprisonment.

Michael will serve four weeks in prison, with the rest of his sentence spent out on licence under the supervision of the probation service.

The pop star was greeted by a horde of photographers as he arrived at court earlier.

In 2007 he admitted another charge of driving while unfit through use of drugs at Brent Magistrates Court in London.

Michael was found slumped at the wheel of his car in the early hours of 4 July having crashed it into the store frontage.

He was arrested and taken to Hampstead police station, where he was found to be carrying cannabis cigarettes.

Michael shot to fame as half of pop duo Wham! before embarking on a successful career as a solo artist.

The singer - whose real name is Georgios Panayiotou - has made no secret of his long-time use of cannabis.

The BBC's Lizo Mzimba was in court and said Michael had "gasped" when his sentence was passed down.

Earlier his barrister said the singer was trying to get his life back on track and had started writing new material.

"For the first time in many years he has started writing again," said Mukul Chawla QC. "His creativity, so long hampered by his drug dependence, is re-emerging."

District Judge John Perkins said he had heard many things in mitigation.

"I accept entirely that you have shown remorse for the offence, that you are ashamed of it, that you admitted it," he said.

"With regret," however, he said he had no alternative in this case but to give him a custodial sentence.

"It does not appear that you took proper steps to deal with what is clearly an addiction to cannabis," he told the singer.

* April 1998 Arrested in LA for "engaging in a lewd act" in a public toilet. Ordered to pay a $810 fine and 80 hours community service.

* February 2006 Arrested for possession of Class C drugs. Cautioned and released.

* June 2007 Charged with driving while unfit through drugs. Given a two-year driving ban and 100 hours community service.

* September 2008 Arrested for possession of Class A and C drugs. Cautioned and released.

* August 2010 Charged with driving under the influence of drugs and possession of Class B drugs. Given six-month interim driving ban until sentencing.

* September 2010 Sentenced to eight weeks in prison, fined £1,250 and given a five-year driving ban.

So yet another pop star reveals he’s gay, 19yr old Joe McElderry took the gutsy move to reveal his sexual orientation just weeks after hackers got into his Twitter account and outed him. Despite claiming it to be a lie at the time he’s come clean – good for him, I say but will his honest approach do him more harm than good?

I hope his mass female fan base don’t become disillusioned and move onto pastures new, after all it’s about his voice and his music and not who he prefers in the bedroom.

I find it increasingly sad that gay men and women these days still feel they need to keep quiet for fear of damage to there careers and how they will be perceived by the public. Surely in today’s world been gay should be as acceptable as been straight or even bisexual but as always it’s the small narrow minded people who cannot accept people for who they are that cause the most damage.

Personally I don’t believe it’s any of our business what celebrities do in there personal lives but with mass media attention these days unfortunately it is a way of life for anyone in the publice eye,.

I applaud Joe for choosing to come out now, it’s a daring move to make before he releases his debut album and establishes his career and I sincerely hope he goes on to be highly successful career proves honesty really can be the best policy.

LIVE AID the biggest music event in history took place twenty five years ago this month. Did it make you Rant or Coo?

So many of the biggest artists of the time performed for this charity event. Wembley, London and J.F. Kennedy Stadium, Philadelphia saw U2, Queen, Duran Duran, Status Quo, Paul McCartney, Madonna and Tina Turner and many others perform to crowds of over 72,000 people in England & 99,000 in Philadelphia and an estimated 2 billion people worldwide.

Robbie Joins TT!

Undoubtedly Take That have one of the most successful comebacks in history, I can't help but wonder why they re-joined with Robbie.

Is it a publicity stunt? Is it the money? Or simply friends reconciling?

I have no strong feelings of Robbie's return I loved Take That with and without him but I know you the fans have a lot to say for and against this decision.

So come on then let us know if you think the the guys have lost their minds, made a big mistake, or is the best thing they've done since their comeback.

Will you be buying the album? Going to the tour? or becoming a fan of someone else.
